I think the author did a great job telling the story of a woman who raised three kids and when she didn't have kids to raise anymore had to redefine her purpose and maintain her sanity while dealing with a shaky marriage, an aging mother and an irresponsible adopted sister, among other things. If we all live long enough we'll experience many of the things these characters do: that mid-life thing they say men go through, menopause, caring for our parents in their old age, empty nesting. It's not full of cliches or male bashing or gratuitous sex (I hate that that's what I expected from her, but it sorta was). I finished Terry McMillan's The Interruption of Everything tonight. ![]()
